Today (March 24, 2025), the Health Ministry received five more fully restored ambulances from Manusath Derana, a charity associated with the Derana media network. The ambulances were formally accepted at the Derana premises by Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, the Deputy Health Minister, and representatives of the health ministry.

At the Mulleriyawa hospital, these ambulances were in a state of disrepair and were not operating. In order to meet the urgent need for ambulances and guarantee the protection of Sri Lankan citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic, six ambulances were turned over to the Ministry of Health on August 28, 2021, after being refurbished in accordance with WHO requirements.

Eleven ambulances in all were restored and turned over, at the cost of Rs. 15 million, by Manusath Derana.

This initiative not only demonstrated the commitment of stakeholders but also showcased their dedication to public health and underscored the vital role of collaboration between government agencies and private sector partners in enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services, ensuring prompt responses to medical emergencies, and delivering quality care to all citizens.

සියල්ලට ප්‍රථම මිනිස්කම පෙරදැරිකරගත් මනුසත් දෙරණ අද (2025 මාර්තු 24) දින තවත් පූර්ණව ප්‍රතිෂ්ඨාපනය කරන ලද ගිලන් රථ පහක් සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය වෙත ලබාදෙන ලදී. මෙම ගිලන් රථ දෙරණ පරිශ්‍රයේදී නියෝජ්‍ය සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය හංසක විජේමුණි මහතා සහ සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යංශයේ නියෝජිතයින් විසින් නිල වශයෙන් භාර ගන්නා ලදී.
ප්‍රතිෂ්ඨාපනයට පෙර මෙම ගිලන් රථ මුල්ලේරියාව රෝහලේ අබලන්ව අත්හැර දමා තිබිණි.
මින් පෙර, COVID-19 වසංගතය අතරතුර ශ්‍රී ලාංකික පුරවැසියන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා ගිලන් රථ වල හදිසි අවශ්‍යතාවය සපුරාලීම සඳහා ගිලන් රථ හයක් ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානයේ නිර්ණායකයනට අනුකූලව නවීකරණය කිරීමෙන් පසු 2021 අගෝස්තු 28 වන දින සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය වෙත භාර දෙන ලදී.
මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ මනුසත් දෙරණ විසින් රුපියල් මිලියන 15 ක වියදමින් ගිලන් රථ එකොළහක් යථා තත්ත්වයට පත් කර ආපසු ලබාදී ඇත.
මෙවන් මුලපිරීම් පාර්ශවකරුවන්ගේ මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය උදෙසා ඇති කැපවීම ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරන අතර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවාවන්හි කාර්යක්ෂමතාව ඉහළ නැංවීම, වෛද්‍යමය හදිසි අවස්ථාවන්ට කඩිනම් ප්‍රතිචාර දැක්වීම සහතික කිරීම සහ සියලු පුරවැසියන්ට ගුණාත්මක සේවාවක් සැපයීම සඳහා රාජ්‍ය ආයතන සහ පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ හවුල්කරුවන් අතර සහයෝගීතාවයේ වැදගත් කාර්යභාරයද අවධාරණය කරයි.
